PUBG Is Getting Two New Graphics Modes For Xbox, Full Resolution & FPS Details Revealed

It's been a while since we last talked about PUBG here at Pure Xbox, but we did cover its new Xbox Series X and S versions back in November of 2025, and now they're about to get some substantial improvements in the near future.

The key thing here is that two new graphics modes are coming to both the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions of PUBG in July 2026 (aka, this month!). These will allow you to play at either 60FPS or 120FPS depending on whether you prefer better visual quality or a smoother frame rate, and the same goes for the PS5 versions too.

Here's what you can expect in terms of the full resolution and FPS details for each mode:

Device Frame Rate Priority Resolution Priority

Xbox Series S

1080p / 120fps

1440p / 60fps

Xbox Series X

1440p / 120fps

2160p / 60fps

PlayStation®5

1440p / 120fps

1800p / 60fps

PlayStation®5 Pro

1800p / 120fps

2160p / 60fps

Beyond this, the team will also be rolling out loading speed improvements at the same time, "optimising bottlenecks based on each menu’s characteristics" in order to "provide a more seamless experience". There's no specific release date for any of this yet, but we definitely know it's all arriving in July.

Future updates will see even more console improvements, including hit detection adjustments and a new default control scheme that will aim to offer "a more intuitive and consistent control experience".

It's clear they're putting a lot of attention on the console versions of PUBG, then, and apparently there are still areas the development team wants to "review and refine" going forward. In all honesty, we haven't been paying much attention to this game on Xbox in recent years, but all these improvements might encourage us to check it out once more!
