Fancy a new version of Darksiders Warmastered Edition?! That's exactly what we're getting, as THQ Nordic has announced today that the game will be re-released for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 on May 19th, 2026.
At the time of writing though, very few details are being shared in terms of what to expect. Is this a free upgrade? What are the specific enhancements that are being made? We don't really know, although a PS5 rundown is reported to mention "native 4K rendering", "smooth and stable 60 FPS gameplay" and a Photo Mode (no word on specifics for Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S yet).

Darksiders Warmastered Edition is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 19, 2026. The game follows War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, as he is wrongly accused of triggering the end of the world and sets out on a quest for redemption. The Warmastered Edition brings the acclaimed action-adventure classic back with enhanced visuals, improved performance, and all previously released content, delivering a definitive experience for modern platforms.
Of course, this is not the first release for Darksiders Warmastered Edition on Xbox - it first came out back in 2016 for the Xbox One with various visual and performance improvements, but this will be its first native Xbox Series X|S release.
We'll swing back around nearer the time with hopefully more concrete details here, but for the time being we know that it'll be available digitally and physically on May 19th, and the price is set at $29.99.
