Back in late September, it was revealed that Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 would all be getting re-released on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S this December, and now discounts for each title have also been confirmed.
For what it's worth, there don't seem to be many major changes compared to the old ones here - Yakuza 0 is most affected, with the Director's Cut featuring newly added cutscenes, an online co-op online ‘Red Light Raid’ mode and an English dub. The other two games are just listed as featuring minor changes, including text support for more countries.
Bizarrely, a Japanese FAQ page also suggests that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will run at 60FPS on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, but this isn't listed in the "features" for the game and therefore we're seeing some confusion around it.
In terms of the upgrades, these are for the digital versions of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2, and save data won't transfer from the old ones to the new ones. The upgrade prices from Xbox One to Series X|S are as follows:
- Yakuza 0: Director's Cut - $14.99 USD
- Yakuza Kiwami - $1.99 USD
- Yakuza Kiwami 2 - $0.00 (FREE!)
As you can see, these are some heavy discounts — the standard prices for each game are $49.99, $19.99 and TBD for Kiwami 2 — with the latter obviously being a totally free upgrade. Nice stuff!
You'll be able to grab all three of these Yakuza re-releases when they go live on December 8th, 2025, and as long as you own them before that date, these discounts will be made available at the exact same time.
