One of the games that we'll be highlighting in tomorrow's "Next Week on Xbox" roundup is Sengoku Dynasty - an open world survival RPG that's been on PC for a while now, and it's making its Xbox Series X and S debut on August 21st.

By all accounts, this game is very much like 2021's Medieval Dynasty, and that makes sense considering it's published by the same company (Toplitz Productions), although it's developed by the relatively new studio Superkami Games.

In Sengoku Dynasty, it'll be your job to "build a life, cultivate your community and start a dynasty". You'll be able to pick between being a Leader, Craftsman, Warrior, or Monk, and then set out to "craft, build, fight and rule" in what's being described as the "ultimate feudal Japan experience". Sounds good, right?

The reviews don't paint quite as good of a picture though. Right now, Sengoku Dynasty has "mostly positive" reviews on Steam and a Metacritic average of 72, with lots of people praising its ambition, number of things to do and impressive open world, but there's some criticism for the gameplay feeling a bit underbaked in certain areas and performance being poor at times in the PC version - so it'll be interesting to see how it fares on Xbox Series X and S. There's also a suggestion that the multiplayer can suffer from lag in the PC release.

Don't let that put you off though, because lots of people definitely still seem to really like this game! It's also launching at a discount price of just £19.99 / $23.99 on Xbox (that includes a small pre-order discount), so you won't have to break the bank for it.
