In the FPS scene, all eyes are on Battlefield 6 at the moment, with hype building fast following EA's recent multiplayer reveal event. That event closed out with the announcement of a few pre-launch beta periods coming up - and even the limited Early Access version is proving extremely popular already.
As we went over in our full Battlefield 6 Beta guide, the early access version went live today; limited to EA Play Pro users, Battlefield Labs testers and those who've acquired a code by other means. And, well, even this version of the beta has seen some major server queues on launch.

Now, we will add that the actual beta file itself can be downloaded by all players right now, ahead of the upcoming open beta starting August 9th. Therefore, some of these players could just be those trying to get in as well - to be honest, we're not entirely sure how EA is locking off access on the backend. Either way, it's clear that there's tons of hype for Battlefield 6 after a four-year hiatus for the series, going off these early server queues (and general excitement around the game of course).
If this has piqued your interest in trying out the open beta this weekend (server strength permitting, that is), we'll chuck a link to our extensive Battlefield 6 beta guide down below so you know what to expect from it. We go over everything you need to know including exact launch timings, what content is in the beta, what rewards will carry over to the full release and more!
