It's been a long time now since Skate 4 (later named as just "Skate") was first announced back in the summer of 2020, but it's finally almost ready to release - and you've got the chance to play it on Xbox over the coming weeks.

The team has confirmed that everyone who signs up to playtest Skate before June 27th will be able to join the fun at some point on or after July 2nd, with invites being sent out in batches as the weeks roll on.

"After signing up and completing the RSVP, hang tight! Keep an eye on your email inbox as access to the next playtest will be granted in waves and continue rolling out during the weeks after it starts on July 2, 2025. Not everyone will be granted access on the first day of the playtest so just wait for that email when it's time for you to drop in and play."

To sign up, you just need to head to the official Skate website and hit the "Register Now" button:

This latest playtest for Skate arrives alongside the release of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 on July 11th, although the official "early access" release for Skate won't be happening until some point later in the year.

It's going to be interesting to see how Skate can compete with a genre that's kinda exploded since its announcement in 2020, with multiple Tony Hawk games, SkaterXL and Session all arriving on Xbox in recent years.
