Capcom Is Expanding Its Dev Studios Following Years Of Record Profits

Earlier this month, we posted about another incredibly successful year for Japanese game maker Capcom, and now it's announced its intentions to expand considerably over the next few years in the wake of that success.

As shared by the folks over at VGC, Capcom says it's building a new development base in Osaka; to be completed by 2027. The Resident Evil dev says this new building will allow the team to expand by 100 employees each year once it's been constructed.

This news comes from the company's latest financial call, which dropped earlier this month; revealing an eighth year of record profits on the bounce. There are also plans for Capcom to acquire more land for future dev buildings too, which will likely go ahead if the team continues to see similar levels of success in the coming years.

Of course, the company's very recent success has largely been down to Monster Hunter Wilds. This recent entry in the long-running franchise has been a smash hit, surpassing 10 million copies sold within its first month on the market. That milestone ended up breaking another record; becoming Capcom's new company record for first-month sales.

What are you hoping to see from Capcom in the next few years? Talk to us about that down below.
