Paramount's second season of the Halo series is well underway, and this week episode five aired. We now know most of the main cast in the show have managed to survive the Covenant's invasion of Reach.
While we won't go into any major details, the latest episode eventually slowed things down with far less action. John and co...spoiler...were able to escape the planet with the assistance of Kwan and Laera, and are now on the outer colony of Aleria trying to come to terms with everything that's happened. Riz also found herself on life support and the Spartans said goodbye to a friend.
There are also some other happenings on the Covenant side (with a few familiar faces returning) and at the end of the episode, there's a very exciting teaser of what's to come. I get that people are upset they didn't go to the Halo, but I'm happy they didn't. Why? because other wise we'd only have what 5 episodes there. I'd rather the event of Halo 1 is give a full season, and rest of season 2 be used to wrap up these other threads
Action scenes are good, but story is abysmal, 3/10 for me. The could do so much more with the IP.
It was hands down the worst episode of the entire series so far. So much wrong. Where to begin. Reach falls off screen. Chief is going on a lone wolf mission against Parangosky and Ackerson, wasting time with boring sub plots instead of showing off one of the most iconic battles in the franchise.
Then we have the Arbiter being persuaded by Makee (who shouldn't exist) and CORTANA of all people to commit heresy and go to the ring on their own.
Kai leading Spartan IIIs? Not bad, but they won't do anything meaningful with that either.
I'll keep watching because I have a free trial active but this show is cooked. Reach falling off screen and not showing the space battle from the books to me, is heresy and unforgivable.
No one cares about Kwan.
I still have to see season one lol. Will give it a try next week.
Loved it except I think they wasted a lot of potential with the arbiter. I dont love the changes to the character, he shouldnt be the arbiter yet, I know this is a completely different timeline but still. they could have gotten keith david for voice acting for not THAT much money and it would have given the show an insane pop hype wise.
Other than that I love it. S2 is having a Picard S3 type turnaround.

Watched two episodes of the first season and decided it was enough for me. Horrendous writing...
I didn't even know there was a halo series. I just looked at the trailer and it doesn't look like something I'd like.
