Back in June 2021, Halo's legendary Bungie-era composer Marty O' Donnell announced that he was thinking of calling time on his career in gaming - and we must admit, we didn't expect him to announce such a huge career shift less than three years later.
Taking to Twitter today, O'Donnell has announced that he's running for US Congress as a Republican candidate. Yep, you read that right, the long-time Halo composer is swapping the strings of the House of Reckoning for the wings of the House of Representatives.
O'Donnell's accompanying message is quite a long one, but the gist of it is that he wants to go and try to make a difference in US politics after three years of semi-retirement. Fair play to him - that's a tall order but we wish him the best in his new career!
In recent years O'Donnell has been involved in a few controversies related to his involvement with Halo, although those were eventually sorted out amicably and the composer seems to have moved on from the whole saga. It'll be interesting to see how things play out during his time in politics.
