The Finals Patch 1.4.1 Arrives After 'In-Depth Review' Of Aim Assist Mechanics

Less than a month after becoming the "Top Free Game" on Xbox following its surprise launch at The Game Awards, The Finals just got a brand-new update that completely reworks the aim assist on Xbox.

According to the team, an "in-depth review" of the game's aiming mechanics has taken place in the last month-or-so to address some of the community's biggest concerns. As a result, we have a small patch that makes some big changes to aim assist, including on Xbox.

We'll drop those version 1.4.1 patch notes down below. Oh, and stay tuned for "another bigger update in the works for next week" featuring "new exciting content" from The Finals' team.

The Finals Update 1.4.1 Patch Notes

AIM ASSIST CHANGES

  • Zoom Snapping Angular Velocity now has a max cap, preventing unintended rapid 90-degree turns.
  • Camera Magnetism will be reduced to 35% from 50%, making player aim less sticky and lowering controller accuracy.
  • Zoom Snapping Time will be reduced to 0.25s from 0.35.
  • Zoom Snapping will be removed from the SR-84 Sniper Rifle, Revolver, LH1, and all Shotguns, as it buffs them more than other weapons.
  • Aim assist will ignore invisible players, fixing a bug with the existing system.
  • Clients running key re-mapping programs on PC will not have access to aim assist.
