Indie fishing sim DREDGE became a pretty big hit when it first launched earlier this year, and after a bunch of free updates in the months since, the team has announced a new premium expansion for the title.

'The Pale Reach' brings a winter-themed add-on to Xbox (and other platforms) this November, and here's a bit more about what to expect from the DLC pack:

"Following three free updates earlier this year, DREDGE: The Pale Reach will be the game’s first paid content expansion and introduce players to a brand-new biome which will require additional equipment capable of tackling its treacherous and icy expanse. Players will need to trawl freezing depths and traverse crystalline canyons to follow in the footsteps of a doomed expedition lost to time, while hunting for 11 new fish and crab species, and their aberrated counterparts."

While this is a paid expansion, it'll cost players just £5.99 / $5.99 / €5.99 on all platforms, including Xbox - which we think is a pretty good deal if the add-on matches the quality of the base game. It also contains a good few hours of new gameplay, along with some other brand-new features. We'll drop the team's feature list down below.

  • 1-3 hours of content playable at any time in your playthrough
  • Uncover a brand new side-story
  • Discover 4 new pieces of equipment to catch 11 new fish and crab species
  • Craft a new boat add-on to smash through the ice
  • Purchase ice blocks to extend the shelf-life of your most valuable catches
  • 8 new achievements
