Ubisoft's The Settlers: New Allies was originally supposed to be releasing for Xbox this week on Thursday, March 23rd, but the company has now delayed the console release, with no new date provided as of yet.

As revealed on social media, the reason behind the delay is to "ensure the best possible experience for players", suggesting the game needs a little more polish before it's ready for its console launch.

Unfortunately, The Settlers: New Allies didn't debut to overly great reviews when it arrived on PC in February, racking up a fairly disappointing Metacritic score of 59, despite nearly all the reviews having some positive things to say.

Hopefully the extra time will allow the Xbox version to achieve a higher score when it eventually arrives, which we're assuming won't be too far away - we'll let you know when Ubisoft announces a new date.
