Okay, look, this writer will openly admit he wasn't the biggest fan of Far Cry 6, finding the series' latest entry a bit tired compared to past Far Cry titles. However, at least Ubisoft delivered on the Far Cry memo there, providing a huge, gorgeous open world to cause all sorts of chaos in. Well, much like other recent Far Cry DLC packs, the Lost Between Worlds add-on doesn't really look like Far Cry at all.

Ahead of the upcoming expansion, which launches today, the team has revealed the first 15 minutes of gameplay via IGN (as you can see above). To be honest, we're not entirely sure what we're looking at here, but it doesn't really spark much personal excitement - for someone who once really enjoyed what Far Cry had to offer.

It's a bit of an empty-looking linear world full of 'shattered realms' and weird zombie-like enemies, and we're not seeing much of a link between this and the main Far Cry 6 game. You could argue Far Cry worked best when it got its open world gameplay loop just right - which it once managed with a standalone DLC in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon!

Anyway, we'll reserve any further judgment until 'Lost Between Worlds' actually launches later today! The expansion will hit Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as a standalone add-on, and as part of the Far Cry 6 GOTY Edition.

What do you think to this first gameplay clip? More optimistic about 'Lost Between Worlds' than us? Let us know!
