Wow, this is a big one! Netflix has announced plans to translate Gears of War to the big screen, with both a live action movie and an "adult animated series" in the works. We've heard rumblings of a Gears of War movie for years and years at this point; we're just as surprised as anyone to see it finally happen!
This is the first we've heard of Netflix's involvement though, with the streaming service taking the reins on all things 'Gears' for video, at least for the foreseeable future.
As it turns out, that future could involve even more Gears! The announcement post states that there's potential for further Netflix stories from the Gears of War universe to follow, so it sounds like we may see a barrage of Gears video content soon, after years of waiting.
For now there's no timeline on when any of this is coming, but rest assured, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for any more Gears movie and TV details. Scratch two grubs!

Hopefully Netflix treats it better than how Paramount treated Halo.
Nice! Netflix actually has had a pretty decent track record of late for handling game adaptation (Cyberpunk Edgerunners is excellent) so hopefully this will turn out well too.

If this had been announced before the Paramount Halo show, I’d be excited. But after seeing the Halo adaptation… not expecting much.
Please do the Sony thing here Microsoft and use the film to remaster or remake the first 3 games, you know so people can easily get into the series after watching the shows. Not being sarcastic at all. I love Gears Ultimate. I just want 2 and 3 to go with it. Played 250 hours of Gears 5 multiplayer. This is the IP that made me a Xbox fanatic. 360 is still my favorite console ever made and it’s largely due to playing Gears online with my friends.
As long as it's not based on Kait...

@InterceptorAlpha I'm a Resident Evil fan. I don't think I like any Resident Evil film except bits of the first one. I might watch the first episode of the TV series just to check what they did...
I haven't watched The Witcher, Cyberpunk nor Halo TV series either.
These adaptions always End up being bad.
The Witcher on Netflix sucks

Halo on paramount was a complete disaster

@Chaudy Cyberpunk? Castlevania? Arcane (LoL)? Dota? Now I would even try to claim Dragons Dogma but I am aware that most people did not enjoy it and my enjoyment of it probably comes from being starved by the lack of Dragons Dogma content
