Striking Distance Studios' upcoming Dead Space-like, The Callisto Protocol, is closer to release than you might think, hitting Xbox platforms on December 2nd. Ahead of launch, the team discussed a range of gameplay details with EDGE magazine (thanks MP1st), including just how long this one will take to beat.

If you're after a nice, chunky single-player game this fall, TCP could well be it. Striking Distance Studio Head, Glen Schofield, says that the title is "trending towards 12 to 14 hours" as a current runtime. That sounds solid enough to us!

The dev was also quick to point out that late on in the game, alternate paths open up, and player-driven choices could lead to a slightly longer playtime overall. Here's a bit of what the dev had to say about these "beta paths":

"They came later in the game, but some of them are so freaking cool. And we don't tell you where they are or how many they are. But if you really explore, [the game length] may be longer."

In reality, then, it's probably best to expect 10-15 hours from The Callisto Protocol when it launches this December.
