Activision has today pulled back the curtain on a whole bunch of new Call of Duty details and footage as part of the Call of Duty: NEXT livestream, including for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0.

Firstly, let's start with Modern Warfare 2. The multiplayer was the big reveal today, with confirmation that it'll feature the likes of swimming and aquatic combat, enhanced movement options, new modes such as Knockout, Prisoner Rescue, Invasion and Special Ops, the new Third Person playlist, new equipment and vehicles, and also the post-launch addition of Raids, offering a "cooperative challenge requiring teamwork and strategy like never before".

And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Today's multi-hour stream went through a bunch of these features in much more detail (you can watch it at the bottom of this article), along with providing an extensive look at raw gameplay.

As for Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, we know that it'll be releasing on November 16th with a "large and meticulously crafted" new map called Al Mazrah. You can take a look at the map in the image below:

New features in Warzone 2.0 include over a dozen unique vehicles alongside the aforementioned swimming mechanic, an enhanced Buy Station, variations to the traditional "Circle Collapse", a 2v2 multilevel arena called The Gulag where you'll battle for a chance to earn reentry to the map, the addition of Strongholds, and an all-new sandbox experience called DMZ - more information will be available on that feature in the future.

It's all looking and sounding pretty impressive, so we've got high hopes for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 when they release later this year! Don't forget the Early Access Beta window opens on September 22nd for Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox as well, with PlayStation owners getting exclusive access a week earlier (from September 16th).
