Update: Well, the leaks have encouraged Ubisoft to come forward and officially reveal Assassin's Creed Mirage! You can see a first look at its artwork here, and more details will be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward event next week.
Original story: Ahead of Ubisoft's 'Forward' livestream later this month, the Assassin's Creed leaks are starting to occur. Recent reports actually named the 2023 franchise entry as 'Mirage' and now, some images relating to that very name have appeared online. Exciting!
At present, the leaked pictures look like they contain key art for the upcoming title, but the imagery does appear to back up a lot of what was said about the title in prior reports. Here's a quick look:
'Mirage' is supposedly a smaller-scale Assassin's Creed game set to launch before Ubisoft's big series revolution in Assassin's Creed Infinity. If the reports are to be believed, this upcoming title will be set in Baghdad and should come out in Spring 2023.
Does this look like an AC title you'd be into? Let us know down in the comments!

Intriguing! I'm excited!
I'm interested to know what smaller scale means exactly.
@Kaloudz rumours had it, for a long time, being a traditional AC style game - pre origins aping of witcher 3.
@NeutronBomb So, something like classic AC? Chapters and such?
Forty thieves quest in reference to Aladin?, maybe with a giant 🧞♂️ who grants wishes.
Haha that'd be a cool Easter egg
Think this will be a bit back to basics for the series and also a smaller and tighter game than ACV.
Wish it was new generation only, then maybe they could have pushed some more boundaries.
I personally would love an AC that goes back to the scale of Syndicate, and takes place in civilization, not in the middle of huge fields of nothingness.
I really miss busy towns/cities, the armor parkour puzzle dungeons, and my, do I miss how killing any high profile target gave you that still-in-time phantom chat with your victim.
Hunting down and killing targets cult/order/whatever members in Valhalla was kinda ok as a mechanic, but the fact that they just died with no conversation made it fell, meh.
That kinda looks like Prince of Persia from those pictures.
@Tharsman The puzzle dungeons were hands down the best part of AC. You're right, huge fields of nothing is pointless when most just fast travel and bypass most of it after first glance. I'd definitely agree to more condensed world's, but I've come to love the gameplay since Origins so I hope it's not too different.
@Kaloudz Mind you, I do like the game Valhalla is, but I still don't see it as Assassins Creed. I play it with the same mindset I play Witcher 3.
I just wish they have had the same foresight they had when making Origins and Valhalla that they did when they made the first Assassins Creed. That first game was going to just be a Prince of Persia game, and they ended up making a new IP out of it. Origins could had been a brand new pillar in Ubisoft's repertoire.
@Tharsman Like you, I enjoyed Valhalla. I quite enjoyed Origins too. I didn't get on with Odyssey. That was my "AC 3" of the revised games. Something just didn't click.
You're spot on though. They're closer to The Witcher than that which came before and could easily have been a fresh IP.
Let's just hope when we see what this is, it meets expectations, and god please, challenge tombs. I used to love earning my Ezio Armour rather than redeeming Ubi points for it.
As long as is not as empty as the first four games I'll be glad. Without the nostalgia, those games weren't bad but all the side stuff was so pointless.
@munstahunta Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves is one of the most famous books ever written. This is what this new AC game is based on.
@Kaloudz That's been the rumour all the way, yeah.
@NeutronBomb I can get behind that.
@Savage_Joe sorry your are right , my bad.
@munstahunta don't worry about it 😁
Kinda sucks that this was purportedly just DLC for Valhalla, and they repurposed it as a "throwback" to classic AC. Shows a relative lack of fuss, but the sucky part was that it was done for "exotic" ancient cultural settings when a project like this should be for run-of-the-mill stuff they're always doing.
Seems like it may look a lot like AC Origins. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Apocalypto Mayan culture
Oohhh I love the smaller creed games. They feel truer to the original premise to me. This just shot up the list for me.
