Could Dead Island 2 finally be getting its grand re-reveal sometime soon? Well, the game has cropped up once again via a bunch of Amazon storefront listings, including on Xbox Series X and Xbox One.
The listing in question went live today, August 18th, although pre-orders are closed for now with the game deemed 'Out of Stock'. Still, there are some fresh screenshots included, and a potential release date to go on.
We can no longer spot an attached launch date on the listing itself, although Wario64 says Dead Island 2 is set to release on February 3rd, 2023. We could be in for another busy Q1 next year!
Dead Island 2 was first revealed way, way back in 2014, and the game has gone through multiple developers since that stage. UK team Dambuster Studios is now at the helm, for what appears to be the game's final development stretch.

I enjoyed the first two games, but this is an entirely different team and has spent nearly a decade in development, so I have no idea what to expect.
It will be interesting to see how it's changed from the original gameplays. It would also be cool to get a vidoc about what happened with this game during its dev hell.
I don't hold out much hope for this. Its development has been handed off to different studios twice now (from Yager to Sumo Digital in 2015, then to Dambuster in 2019) and that's never a good omen.
I'm so looking forward to this game, and have been since way back when they showed that quite stunning CGI trailer. I know it wasn't gameplay, and that the game has been in a kind of limbo since then, plus changed Development teams a number of times, but I'm really hoping that it'll be good. I also know that I will likely pre-order it, though I will probably do so just a few days before it is released so that I have a better idea as to its quality. Fingers crossed, though. Fingers crossed....
I have been wanting this game for years. I loved the original and the expansion Riptide. I have played through both games multiple times. I just hope this game keeps the original formula that made the first two games so much. Do not try to turn this into Dying Light which sucks. Something changed with Dying Light other than adding parkour. It just was not as much fun. I love Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. Did not care for Dying Light 1 or 2.
All I gotta say is, I hope it doesn't feel outdated.
