When is Sifu coming to Xbox? Yes, we've got another hotly anticipated PS4 and PS5 exclusive arriving this week in the form of beat 'em up action game Sifu, but fortunately it's only a timed exclusive, so it will end up on Xbox eventually.
The development team have remained mostly quiet about this so far, but in a response to a Reddit thread about the game coming to Xbox, team member "Sloclap" confirmed back in November that "the exclusivity is time limited":
As for Sifu's Xbox release date, we're very much in the dark right now. It all depends on the timed exclusivity window — it could be three months, six months, a year or potentially even longer, although we'd suggest the latter is unlikely.
When it does eventually arrive on Xbox, we'll be in for a treat. Our sister site, Push Square, gave it a "Great" 8/10 in their review this past weekend, calling it a "consistently challenging and demanding beat-'em-up, but persistence pays off."
Looking forward to the arrival of Sifu on Xbox? Let us know down in the comments below.

That's good, hopefully not too long to wait.
Most likely a year exclusive just the same as other Sony back alley deals.
With this technically being an indie project, I’d say it’s more likely a 6-month exclusive. But they’re also a smaller team taking on a much more ambitious title so that may make it take longer to port.
Bought this on pre order on PS5, it’s fantastic!!! The fighting is excellent. A proper next gen beat em up!!
Sony Timed Exclusives could take years to come to Xbox. Remember we still don't have Fall Guys, FF7 was supposed to be a Timed Exclusive until Sony paid Square Enix to increase the exclusivity period. Then paid them even more to not release any FF mainline games on xbox this generation.
@Kooky_Daisuke I think anyone "team xbox" would have to lack a significant amount of self-awareness to make that type of claim. I think it is fair to say that Microsoft of all companies are making the most out of the cash in their pocket. All is fair in love, war and business and they will all give great service and just as fast screw you when they can or need to. Don't be fooled. They are businesses that want your money nothing more.
@Chaudy I suspect you have no issue when it is the other way around though. Interesting.
@Agnostic I don't have a issue with Sony either. I'm just saying some Timed Exclusives take years. Its just a fact.
I'll just say this game will be worth the wait, final score in review doesn't really tell the full story. It's a winner for sure.
@Chaudy ah ok my bad. Reading between the lines too much.
"Then paid them even more to not release any FF mainline games on xbox this generation."
I assumed emotional bias at play because of how this was phrased. the FACT was it was a PlayStation exclusive. But spinning that to "keep it off xbox" is revealing.
@Agnostic no not all, just saying that initially Ff7 was Timed but then circumstances changed and now it won't come to xbox. Obviously Microsoft has done this with games like CrossFireX, Nobody Saves the World and Stalker 2. I don't have any bias here. Both consoles have good games. Doesn't really matter what you have, you can enjoy both.
It could be a year from now, or two. Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a "timed exclusive" too. So is Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Sony pays extra to keep games off Xbox, but yea let's cry some more when Microsoft buys another studio, because it's SOOOO unfair.
@Chaudy I haven’t seen any news saying FF7R is now full exclusive and no FF games will come out on Xbox this generation. Where did you hear this?
I could not get into absolver. I’d try this on game pass. No way I’d put money down again on one of their games.
@Johnnel check this https://www.google.com/amp/s/wccftech.com/final-fantasy-games-xbox-every-game-pc/amp/
This game got so much buzz. It's a crying shame they felt they had to strike a sleezy deal with Epic Games and PlayStation. I'll play it when and if it comes to GP.
@Johnnel SquareEnix is in bed with PlayStation again. the writing is on the wall. All the FF games were supposed to come to Game Pass within the first year they were announced. Where did they go? SE dolled them out over time, only one or two titles on the service at a time. Now they are all expiring. Still no FF14. and now 16 is an exclusive, rumor is not just one year. Read some tea leaves, man.
Come on guys. Off the top of my head, The Medium, 12 Minutes and Death's Door were all first on XBox last year. Big deal, it happens both ways
I got this on the other console. My most anticipated game of February. I honestly didn’t know it was a timed exclusive.
@Chaudy that’s interesting I’ve not seen that before. I also think it’s a bit strange if true. Most already consider PlayStation the home of FF I would think and timed exclusivity alone would further cement that. To pay more to keep them off Xbox for an entire generation? Possible but also a big waste of money imo, but it’s Sonys money so I don’t care either way. It just seems odd if that is indeed the case.
You guys are in for a treat, terrific game!!
PlayStation is going to buy Square Enix. FF7 Remake will never come to Xbox
I didn't even realized it was a time exclusive.
I hope the wait is not too long for Xbox. I have too many titles to play already, so I cant justify the purchase right now and may well wait till its Xbox release if it comes to GP.
@GhanaViking Hopefully not. Nintendo leans on Square-Enix, Tecmo-Koei, and Namco Bandai a LOT for their 3rd party exclusives and any one of those vanishing would be irritating to Xbox but devastating to Nintendo. So far the consolidation has been in places that affect MS vs Sony vs Streaming/PC, but once it spills over to start hurting Nintendo's supply chain which is a lot more limited, it starts getting really troublesome.
Honestly Square-Enix will just take money from whoever will give it to them. They've taken MS's, Nintendo's, Sonys. It's just that Sony hands it out more often.
@PapaGlitch they don't care when Xbox does it because they can play them on gamepass
@NEStalgia capcom aswell they had a deal with Microsoft with dead rising , playstation got a few perks with resident evil & Nintendo got that exclusive monster Hunter game
@Chaudy
I do fully agree the PS5 era has been the start to Sony bumpin it up even another level of Bitch Mode by paying for 2 year exclusivity deals, when a standard year was what they have always done in the past. When I irst heard the Square Enix game Forespoken was going to be a 2 year exclusive I was shocked, that is way too long. Specially because year has always already felt like the game was a Sony exclusive at that point honestly.
Just one small heads up, Fall Guys, it's exclusivity deal is up. The developers just have had major problems getting the game ported over to the Xbox and Switch while at the same time making consistent new content for the game. The studio was not a huge studio with a bunch of devs, But they were acquired by Ten Cent or one of the big ass companies that I am sure pumped a lot of money into it. I swear, they have lagged so hard on getting that ***** onto Xbox and Switch, that by the time they do no one will even care.
Honestly it already feels that way. N I really thought the game was going to have a big resurgence when it made it to Xbox, but that was supposed to be last Summer... If it actually ever does make it over, the game better be free or at the very least on Game Pass and like $10 or $20 at the most.
I know the game has already lost a ton of it's major buzz on the Playstation. N I randomly turned on my PS4 the other day the game is not even free anymore, They were trying to charge me $20 for access to it, and I had been playing it for over a year or whenever it came out for PS+.
Xbox really should have been more on the ball and never let Fall Guys be an exclusive game from the rip honestly. That gane was so damn huge when it first came out.
Big Playstation fan (fan of all consoles really), but by no means a fan of these wonky timed exclusivity deals. First off - and I don't know why I really care - but it seems like a waste of money for Sony. Can't quantity that or back it up but just seems like throwing money down a black hole. Secondly, Sony is just paying to keep a game they didn't create off another system. Scummy.
Now multiply that scummy practice by about 1000 and you have the Microsoft-Zenimax deal. And possibly Activision as well. Its just gross regardless of who is doing this crap.
You want exclusives, develop them in-house yourself or get outta here. Work for it, earn it, don't just try to buy yourself out of problems.
But, yeah, business...
I pre ordered this on PS5, it’s very, very good an fun to play.
I hope it's not to long. I have a PS5 but I prefer to play games on my Series X and this one looks super fun
This will probably be a year exclusive. Only Xbox does 3 Month console exclusivity deals (Stalker 2)... I can't believe Xbox only locked that down for 3 months. 6 Months sounds too good to be true imo, But it will be a nice surprise when Sifu drops on Xbox next year.
