We've got some great news for fans of the classic Xbox 360 social game, 1 Vs. 100! According to a new report from Jeff Grubb over at Giant Bomb (thanks VGC), a new version of the game is "definitely" in the works.

Grubb says the AltspaceVR team is spearheading the project, which is part of the mixed reality group at Microsoft, and the new virtual avatars that the company is utilising for Microsoft Teams will be integrated into the title.

"1 vs. 100 is coming back. They are definitely making that game… and it seems like it’s coming from the AltspaceVR team. They’re spearheading the project and all of the avatars we saw in the Microsoft Teams thing last week, they’re going to use those avatars and bring that stuff in."

Xbox boss Phil Spencer mentioned this time last year that he was interested in bringing back a version of 1 Vs. 100, explaining at the time that "we're on the case, I'll put it that way". He also teased it at a FanFest in October 2020.

With AltspaceVR in the hotseat, it does sound like this could potentially extend beyond Xbox and perhaps incorporate VR or AR elements for those with the capabilities. That's just us speculating though — we'll have to wait and see.
