Earlier this week, industry insider Jeff Grubb published an article on VentureBeat about what to expect from the upcoming Xbox Showcase, taking place on 23rd July.

One of his many predictions was that Team Xbox would bring an "anticipated" third-party title to Game Pass, not long after its release. He went as far as saying Cyberpunk 2077 was a prime candidate.

According to a tweet from CD Projekt Red's PR manager, Radek Grabowski, Jeff will need to pick another example, as there are "no Game Pass plans" for the Polish-based company's new release:

"You have to pick another example, Jeff. No Game Pass plans for Cyberpunk 2077."

So, there you go - that's the official word directly from a CD Projekt Red employee. Of course, this doesn't completely debunk Jeff's previous prediction of Microsoft announcing an "anticipated" third-party title - for Game Pass, at its Xbox event later this month.

He acknowledges this In his latest GamesBeat article focused on Grabowski's response:

"I’ve heard unsubstantiated rumors that Cyberpunk could end up on Game Pass soon after release. And Microsoft has a co-marketing deal for the game. This is also a strategy that makes sense for Xbox. But if a marquee, third-party release ends up on Game Pass near its release, it’s not Cyberpunk."

If what Jeff says turns out to be more than a rumour, what "anticipated" third-party release do you think could be on its way to Xbox Game Pass? Share your thoughts down below.
