Is your Marvel's Avengers, Battlefield 2042 Beta or any other Xbox download suddenly halting and saying "Installation Stopped" for no reason? You're not alone. We reported on this story yesterday, but due to a surge of players attempting to download those two games in particular, the issue is ramping up again on social media.
There's no clear reason for why this is happening, and it appears to be affecting all versions of Xbox consoles at different times in the download, although Series X and Series S seem most prevalent. Here are some reports:

As we mentioned yesterday, Xbox's support team has yet to comment on the problem at the time of writing, and there's no sign of any issues on the Xbox Status website. We've reached out for an update, so will keep you in the loop.
Worse still, there's no concrete fix that we've found to get around the issue. If you're having this problem, you can fully restart your console and your download should resume, but you may still run into issues down the line — or worse still, your download might just decide to start from scratch at a random point. Here's how to restart your console:
How To (Temporarily) Fix 'Installation Stopped' Issue On Xbox
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Power mode & start-up'
- Choose 'Restart now'
Alternatively, if that doesn't work, you can perform a full reset with the following instructions:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Power mode & start-up'
- Choose 'Full shut-down'
- Turn your console on manually again

I got a new expansion card on Sunday and have been downloading stuff almost ever since on my Series X. Only issue I had was the exact opposite - it tried to install a game twice! (Once on my internal and once on the expansion card).
I'm in the "everything seems fine" camp for the Series X. Downloaded Avengers first at like 139gb and then subsequent 46gb patch? Anyway, no issues at my house. Just a lot of waiting.
Got home from work just now and farcry 6 all down loaded and fine 42.4gb all installed.
Series x.
Im in the To be honest I haven't noticed either way camp on Xbox 1 funny how this starts at the fall gaming rush
Had an issue with Avengers not appearing in Game Pass, but installing a Store update (which took 3 attempts - it'd retry every time I opened the store) it appeared and downloaded fine.
No issues otherwise on XSX - on the Omega ring due to the Xbox Insider app but don't think that makes much difference
Been absolute nightmare. Finally gave up on downloading anything. One more example of why digital only is ass.
I hope they sort this out ASAP cos I wanna play Far Cry 6 in a few days time!

The only problem that i had is that the new AC Valhalla patch asked me for 9GB of space, fair enough it is 24GB and I had 15GB left. I deleted one game, AC Valhalla started updating, I went to download and there it is, my Series S is downloading the whole game again, 114GB. But it looks like the game got deleted and started downloading right after I make space for the update because I don't have space to download 114GB, weird

Must be doing it ahead of release.
Installation stopped at 67% after 2 hours...
I turned the console back on and the download resumed but I was afraid I would have to start all over again.

I’ve literally had no issues downloading anything . I have avengers installed no problem . Guess I’m one of the lucky ones
Does anyone if this problem has been sorted as I really want to reinstall marvel avengers, I've had the game since Christmas and I don't want the disc just hanging around collecting dust. Xbox and xbox support should be acknowledging this problem by sorting it out.
Fix it by cancelling all other installs and restarting the vanguard one on xbox one S. Hope it helps!
My issue is weird. All my games will update or download, EXCEPT for 2042. It just stops at 61.60MB. No error message, nothing. It just freezes there.
