Battlefield 2042 is one of the biggest releases of the year and with Xbox's partnership with EA, many have hoped there would be an addition to Xbox Game Pass on day one. There have been lots of signs that it could be happening, but where do we stand with it all now?

Many insiders suggested throughout the year that Battlefield 2042 could be coming to Xbox Game Pass, but as it stands, there are no plans for a day one inclusion - but not all hope is lost.

For a start, while the full version of Battlefield 2042 won't be available in Xbox Game Pass at launch, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - and EA Play members - will be able to dive into a ten-hour trial of the game. This gives everyone the opportunity to give the game a decent chance before making the plunge at buying the game.

Now, with every EA game, there is certainly hope the game will be included with Xbox Game Pass in the future. As with other titles, the company's titles have joined EA Play - usually within the first year of launch. Depending on the success of Battlefield 2042, it could be sooner rather than later.

For now, we'll just have to wait and see. Xbox is being dubbed as the "official console of Battlefield 2042", so if it's going to come to any service, Xbox Game Pass sounds like the one it could be.
