343 Industries has announced that Season 8 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will kick off on October 13, potentially serving as the last season-based content for the game.
A brief teaser for the upcoming season was shared on social media, revealing it will be based around a medieval theme with unique armour offerings. Along with the new cosmetics, players can expect a new post-match screen for Halo 3 which shows the three top players with their custom pose, along with the addition of the Icebox map.
A Halo Waypoint post last month suggested this could be the last season for Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as next year will see the team "pivoting away" from its seasonal model.
The focus will move onto "smaller updates that can land when they’re ready based on development status and studio roadmap alignment". While 343 Industries hasn't confirmed it will definitively be the last season, it is sounding likely.
Let's hope it goes out with a bang!
