The latest Xbox Insider update for members of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring went live last night, and it includes a brand-new feature in the form of 'Night Mode', adding some handy new tools for late-night gamers.

As you can see in the video above (courtesy of The Verge's Tom Warren), Night Mode allows you to dim and filter your screen, as well as dim your console & controller LED brightness. Here's the full explanation:

"Night Mode has now been added as a new feature in Settings! Users can now dim and filter their screen, as well as dim their console & controller LED brightness. Please note that localization is still pending, so the feature is currently only available in English."

Early reactions to the new feature have been highly positive, with fans particularly praising the ability to dim their console's power button and controller lights when playing in the dark.

There's no word on when Night Mode will be rolled out to the public, but new features typically progress through the Insider program pretty quickly, so we're assuming it'll only be a matter of a few weeks.
