Rockstar Is Turning Off The Servers For GTA Online On Xbox 360 This December

Ah, remember 2013? Remember the launch of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online on Xbox 360? We're now (incredibly) almost eight years on, and Rockstar has confirmed those Xbox 360 servers will officially close this December.

The final date for GTA Online on Xbox 360 is December 16, 2021, and the reason for the server closure according to Rockstar is to "prepare for this Fall's launches of the new expanded and enhanced versions" for next-gen consoles.

Please note, these changes are strictly for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, and will have no impact on access to, or progress within, the Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode.

Also, Shark Cash Cards for GTA Online on Xbox 360 will be discontinued as of September 15, 2021.

GTA Online isn't the only game that's affected, as both Max Payne 3 and LA. Noire will also be getting Xbox 360 server closures, with Max Payne turning off its website stat tracking, online multiplayer, and leaderboards, and LA. Noire just turning off its website stat tracking. Again, this is only for the Xbox 360 (and PS3) versions of those games.

"All these changes will have no impact on access or progress in Story Mode for any of these titles on either platform.

We’d like to thank the GTA Online community for their continued support, and look forward to seeing players continue their journey in Los Santos with us on new platforms."
