The Left 4 Dead spiritual successor Back 4 Blood may have been delayed recently until October 2021, but that doesn't mean the studio has gone quiet! This latest official trailer showcases the game's rogue-lite card system.
Basically, the game's AI (known as the 'Game Director') will play a selection of cards every time you jump into a game, which can change the way the level plays out. Your team then gets to play your own set of cards as well, providing buffs to things like damage and healing, allowing you to support each other along the way.
It looks really cool and the gameplay is looking as fierce and enjoyable as ever. You can check out the full trailer courtesy of IGN above, and Back 4 Blood is currently available to pre-order on the Microsoft Store.

I cannot believe how good and fun this looks.
Day 1 buy for sure, just hope it delivers 🙌🏻
I still play L4D2 when I get chance. Love it. Praying they use sound and music as well in this. The Audio Cues are just amazing in L4D.
Was really excited about the game.
But...
Watching some impressions/previews on youtube from the alpha. There was still a lot wrong with the game.
Also, there is only a handful of actual Left for dead devs working on the game.
And finally, the way the preorders tiers look & their talk of future content (ability cards/characters/new zombies.) looks a lot like their previous game (Evolved).
Especially looking at Evolved, I really hope people will not blindly buy into this.
