Yesterday we got word that not only would E3 be returning for 2021 in a digital format, but Xbox would be one of the attendees. It's got a lot of people excited, including Xbox head, Phil Spencer.
After the news was revealed, Spencer took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Xbox being on the billing for E3. He acknowledged that events such as these are "proof that our industry is strongest when we work together", but most importantly, how he's "looking forward" to revealing what Xbox has in store this Summer. Sounds exciting!
Xbox will be joined by multiple other companies at E3, such as Ubisoft and Warner Bros. Games. Last year's separate Xbox show saw dozens of new first-party Xbox titles announced, including a new Fable and Perfect Dark entry. Maybe we'll see more of those at E3, and hopefully a Halo Infinite release date. Just over two months until we find out.
Are you excited for E3 this year? Let us know in the comments below.

I always really look forward to E3, and never fail to joke (or am I?) with my son, whose birthday is also in June, that the event is the most important thing to happen in June...
Let's hope it is as big as my anticipation...
I swear if Starfield isn't here
Anyone else think that they will have this and a separate event for themselves?
Since Sony, EA and square enix have left E3 and nintendo have their own Nintendo direct Microsoft are own their own and I fully expect Microsoft to go all it at this E3, no distractions this time, this E3 is basically all on eyes on Microsoft and maybe some on ubisoft lol
So nice to see a strong Xbox presence at the start of this generation, night and day compared to last generation.
@SegataSanshiro E3 2013 is one of those things I'm honestly never going to forget, between Sony basically winning the generation in a few minutes and Mega Man being announced for Smash
I bet some execs who were there at the company back then probably still have nightmares about that video Sony put out about how to share used games
Oh man i'm so pumped for this event, Bring it on.. E3 is back baby..
Doesn’t he say this every year? Even the years when nothing great is announced? Why set expectations higher? I’m sure it will be a great show and I’m pumped, but come on Phil!
Glad to see the return of E3 in some form this year. The industry didn't realise what it had lost until it was gone, and despite what the naysayers think, E3 is not dead. Given the circumstances, I'm not sure if it'll be this year or even next, but I'm pretty confident E3 will return stronger than ever post-pandemic.
@SegataSanshiro
I've no idea what you're talking about. 🤫
I don't think E3 will ever reach its old heights again, the world has turned. But Xbox need to back up their resent wins with some actual game launches if they want t hold the momentum. Sony's not going to be sitting on its hands, They will be locking in all the exclusives they can. Xbox needs to hit back with games.
All this "coming together" talk. BAH!
I hope so, once I get a Series X, I want tons of next-gen games to play for it to go along with my upgraded X1 games!
@SegataSanshiro Basically Xbox E3 2013 conference was terrible (game lineup was weak, didn't resolve any concerns about the XB1 reveal that happened a few weeks earlier) and to follow it up Don Mattrick did an interview straight after the conference where he said if you don't have a constant internet connection you should stick with Xbox 360.
Then Sony completely tore Microsoft apart at the Sony E3 2013 conference where all of the controversial XB1 features were announced not to be present in the PS4.
All the good will of the 360 era completely gone in the space of a few weeks. In response to this Don Mattrick got fired, some of the controversial XB1 features were removed, Microsoft introduced Games With Gold to desperately try to maintain some of the 360 playerbase and Microsoft spent most of the XB1 era trying to rebuild Xbox's reputation with Phil Spencer as head.
If it wasn't for Sony's move at E3 2013, popular things like backwards compatibility on XB1 and Game Pass wouldn't have happened.
This generation, Sony's Jim Ryan is pretty much the new Don Mattrick.
Q) Are you excited for E3 this year?
A) Oh yes; I missed it not being a thing last year. It's a yearly treat to watch, record, react and enjoy it with a large pizza to snack on. It also is super helpful in forming my game purchases and Birthday/Christmas presents (both for myself and others).
More news on the upcoming Fable would be very much appreciated and I look forward to potential new reveals to grab my interest.
