The Medium Dev's Next Project Is With A 'Very Famous Gaming Publisher'

The Medium developer Bloober Team has said it is working on a new title with a popular games publisher, leading many to believe it could be a new Silent Hill game.

The developer hinted it was working on an existing IP with a “very famous gaming publisher” for more than a year in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, and CEO Piotr Babieno later told the publication that he can’t reveal who it is, but he's “pretty sure when people realize we’re working on it, they will be very excited.”

“In fact, we've been working for more than a year on another gaming project, another horror IP, and we're doing this with a very famous gaming publisher. I can't tell you who. I can't tell you what the project is, but I'm pretty sure when people realize we're working on it, they will be very excited.”

Speculation has immediately linked the developer to Silent Hill, but as Video Games Chronicle has reported, Konami has seemingly already outsourced a Silent Hill game to a “prominent Japanese developer”. While it could suggest two Silent Hill games are in the works, this is something VGC’s sources are unable to confirm. Reportedly, Konami originally reached out to Supermassive Games, the team behind The Dark Pictures Anthology, but it never panned out.

As of now, the Bloober Team connection is pure speculation, but it does beg the question as to what else the team could be working on if not. We could be hearing more about a Silent Hill game this Summer, as the series’ composer has teased an announcement coming that fans have been “hoping to hear about”.
