Resident Evil Village Will Take ‘A Lot Of Inspiration' From Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil fans will be happy with the steps Village is taking to advance the series, as it’s been mentioned the new entry will borrow a lot of inspiration from the fan-favourite Resident Evil 4.

In a recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine (thanks, Wccftech), the game’s producer, Peter Fabiano, spoke about the latest instalment and how it riffs off Resident Evil 4 with its “blend of combat, exploration, and puzzle solving.”

“You’ll notice we took a lot of inspiration from Resident Evil 4. The team has put a ton of effort into creating a truly authentic feel. There are plenty of surprises to keep you on your toes; players will find a balance of combat, exploration, and puzzle solving.”

Additionally, Fabiano spoke about how the creatures in Resident Evil Village fit into the world, with Resident Evil VII and it’s protagonist Ethan being the basis for where the story continues. As a result, it’s expected to be the best horror survival game to date.

“This really helped to keep our vision on target. And since we are constantly sharing information across Resident Evil teams, that really helped inform us in making what we consider the best survival horror game to date.”

The hype for Resident Evil Village is high, and a recent showcase for the game gave us our most in-depth look so far. Not only that, but it was revealed a multiplayer component will also come alongside the game, acting as a love letter to the entire franchise.
