Remember last week when 343 Industries sparked a lot of speculation by announcing Halo: The Master Chief Collection was getting "a new way to play"? Turns out it was referring to a Custom Game Browser.
This has been revealed in the February flighting plans for Halo: MCC, which states that the Custom Game Browser will offer "a new way to play with each other", and you can get a glimpse of it in the screenshot above.
The Halo: MCC team will be flighting other features for Halo Insiders as early as next Thursday, February 18th, which will include a new map from Halo Online - assumed to be the "new place" 343 was also referring to last week.
- Custom Game Browser: a new way to play with each other in MCC
- Season 6 content
- A new map for Halo 3 from Halo Online
- FOV slider support for all Xbox One consoles
- FOV slider will no longer be locked when Xbox Series X|S devices are set to 120hz
- Double Keybindings
- Mouse & Keyboard support for consoles
- Advanced Audio options
- View Model Customization options
Ultimately then, despite plenty of speculation, there's no sign of a separate version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming to another platform anytime soon, although we're sure it'll expand to xCloud on iOS and PC later in 2021.
Looking forward to trying out the Custom Game Browser? Let us know down in the comments.

Glad to see that the internet freaked out over nothing for an entire week. People reeeeeeaally just need to chill out and not make news out of nothing.
Attempting to build anticipation by telling the internet “new exciting thing is coming!” Nearly always backfires.
There was one person on here who was begging for the FOV slider to work with 120 hz mode, so I I’m sure they are happy.
I will say, MCC has been my personal favorite game to play at 120 fps. And I’ve only tried it with the original Halo.
@Nermannn Gah, I need a new tv with HDMI 2.1.
I saw no less than three different YouTubers having to explain how this didn't mean that Halo was coming over to Switch.
Hell yes, can't wait for keyboard/mouse support.
I'm assuming keyboard/mouse would be able to be used on the MCC campaigns?
No VR, but aside from FS2020 and WMR, MS hasn't done much for VR.
Alto it's been said BR stands for the lovely iron...I still for some reason think they'll add Battle Royal. Haha.
Also new here. Long time reader. Great place here, keep it up.
Ugh. Ridiculous to frame it that way. MS on marketing fail again. So many of us are fed up of their hyping yet non delivery of said hype.
If I was them Id abandon the ridiculous hyping of every announcement and concentrate on actually making big and better announcements.
You are turning your own fans off let alone winning new ones
