Picked up both Tomb Raider and Rise of Tomb Raider for a total of $9.00! Never played them before and Tomb Raider is really good so far.
I picked up a few things.
Picked up a couple 3 month Gamepass cards and a Shock Blue controller. Nothing too crazy this year but man this controller is gorgeous, Love the color scheme!!
I owned most of what I wanted already (or could get it through gamepass) so I just got a couple more lego games for my son.
MGS HD Collection. That's it. Game Pass makes me question the point of buying anything for a long time (Cyberpunk being the only exception).
Got Control ultimate edition and now it's coming to gamepass. 😂
Also got Tony hawks, crash 4 and FIFA 21 (forgive me).
Got a year of gamepass.
@cbodz where did you get that gamepass deal? Or did you convert gold to gamepass for £1?
Congratulations to any new gamers who could take advantage of bundles. AC Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla for just 80$?
I picked up Maneater, but might wait to play it since I'm still working my way through Planet Coaster's career mode.
I bought Black Ops 2! Cause COD was better before. Cold War and Modern Warfare are trashhh. I don't follow the trend, I follow nostalgia.
Went a bit crazy and got 66 games so far. A lot of super cheap older stuff and long running game series and collections I always wanted to play. May yet get the monster Hunter work bundle as well. Should keep me going for the next year or three.
I haven't bought anything. Nothing jumped out at me, or at least nothing cheap enough that I actually wanted.
@redd214 I've bought the exact same things! I am loving the controller too. The updates are minor, but they make all the difference. I never want to go back to my old Xbox controller I like it that much.
@Nexozi EA Access 12 month passes convert to 4 months of GPUltimate when you redeem them. ShopTo are selling them for £16.85 at the moment (still available).
I use my Xbox One strictly for my non-Nintendo needs, so Rare Replay and Recore were absolute no-brainers.
In terms of new games, Maneater now that it's series X enhanced, Vampire the Masquerade: Shadows of New York because it looks visually pleasing.
Considering Ghostrunner, but might as well wait for the Series X upgrade...
Otherwise bought the Bioshock Trilogy and Ace Attorney Trilogy to replay.
@Jslade Awesome! I feel the same way about the Dualsense, glad you're enjoying it!
@cbodz Cool, thanks! Will have to see if I can add another year with them. Will need to see how many years of gamepass you can build up. I'm currently sorted until July 2023. 😂
Picked up alot of games..
Forza Horizon 4
The Avengers
Trails Of Mana
Minecraft Dungeons
Splatoon 2
Ary & The Secret Of Seasons..
Destroy all humans
Overall i say i did pretty good, I love black friday..
@Tarps good choices. Jealous you get to play them for the first time!
I picked up Xcom 2, Resident Evil 6 and Watch Dogs 2 (which just went on sale). Was tempted by Fifa 21 and Far Cry New Dawn, but didn’t pull the trigger on either.
I've picked up a few but am undecided on a few more - with the rumours of Control being added to GP I dont know whether to hold off on getting the Ultimate Edition that's in the sale.
XCOM 2 - I'm enjoying Gears Tactics and while I like strategy games in general I'm also often not very good at them so I dont know whether I'll actually get much out of it (which is why Sudden Strike Complete Edition also sits in my "maybe" pile)
With Pro Evo 2020 leaving GP in a few weeks I'm unsure if the 2021 update will replace it in which case should I buy that in the sale (or the Juve edition for a few extra £££) or wait and see??
Ghost Recon Breakpoint is another that I'm tempted by but is again one that I want to like it more than I'm actually likely to be good at it - I'll be playing it solo as I've got no mates (lol!) so I've waited till now since they only recently added AI teammates but again I wonder if it'll be worth it to me.
Decisions, decisions, decisions....
I bought The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, in anticipation of the free upgrade next year (I already have/finished the game but on PS4).
@redd214 Lol I did the exact same thing a few months of Gamepass Cards and the blue controller. Should be getting mine today!
I didn't get anything. Too much to play, too little time. And Cyberpunk is coming.
I've already bought a ton of the sale games on prior sales....I was tempted by Control, but didn't get it since it had "Game Pass" written all over it, and sure enough, here it is! Tempted by Greymoor expansion for TES:O since that's getting an XSX patch later this year, that should be an amazing game that could consume years all on its own (Plus the new PSO2 coming later!). But for now I stuck with just getting Borderlands 3. It's a horridly buggy mess that keeps crashing the console, but the XSX enhanced visuals look fantastic, and the play is very smooth when it's not stalling or crashing!
@redd214 They're both amazing for different reasons. Series SX controller feels good because it's a lot of tiny refinements on an already good controller that makes good feel amazing. Dual Sense feels good because after 20-some years of god-awful controllers from Sony, they finally managed to make one that actually feels good! It's the first Playstation I'm not scrambling for third party controllers and actually enjoying the real one
@Tasuki That's great, seems to be a popular bundle lol!! Hope it arrives for you today, I've had 3 different packages of game related things delayed in the last week!
@redd214 Yeah I kinda expect it to get delayed with it being the Holiday Season and COVID. Not a big deal though I mainly got it to use on my tablet
@Tasuki For sure, I'm not too fussed either given the circumstances. And late packages are a great opportunity to try and get a little bonus credit/gift cards from some places. Amazon in particular is VERY generous when a package is late, works about half the time if you're polite and firm but not rude.
I got me some old school flavors!
Resident evil remake/remaster
Silent hill 2/3 HD
Metal gear solid 2/3 HD
SHOULD hold me over til cyberpunk.
@redd214 Well my controller arrived. Now to connect it to my tablet.
Spyro 🤤
But not played yet.
@Tasuki Great! Did you end up going with a Galaxy tab? I think it was you that was asking about those but I may be misremembering.
@redd214 Yep I got the SG7 5G I think it's called. I can never remember the tablet names they sound more like a droids name from Star Wars lol. Played a bit of Forza Horizon 4 on it last night it it looked great. Also was amazed that there was no lag at least that I could notice.
@Tasuki That's what I use as well, no noticeable lag either. If you do experience some you can use a USB-C hub and connect it straight to your router with an ethernet cable. I usually do that when I want to play on the TV. The flexibility Microsoft provided with Xcloud is amazing!
@redd214 Unfortunately I don't have that luxary as my router is clear across on the other side of the house in my brother's room, so unless I run a really long cord go through several walls. But yeah the XCloud is amazing.
Went ahead and purchased Life is Strange: Before the Storm Deluxe Edition alongside the original as well as Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition. I have completed these three titles before 100%, but have never played the DLC for Sleeping Dogs; really looking forward to that!
Tomb Raider, Rise of Tomb Raider, Hitman & Hitman 2 all roughly £10 or less through store or retailers.
@Nexozi: Good news, Control Ultimate comes with the upgraded Series X/S Enhancements, so if you have a shiny new console, it should look and run above and beyond what you would get through Game Pass, + I think there is some DLC in there so not a total waste of money
@Jakovasaur Yea the DLC is probably worth it. By the time I get round to playing it, it'll have left gamepass. 😂
