Gears 5 now allows you to choose what you wish to install and delete, freeing up some valuable hard drive space.
Following a trend adopted by other games such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, upon loading up the game, players are now presented with the ability to install or uninstall certain components of the game. However, the mandatory install size of 42GB must remain.
The campaign (19GB), multiplayer (10GB) and the newly released Hivebusters expansion (8GB) can each be removed once players are finished with the content. There’s even an option to remove the full customisation settings (12GB) if you’re not entirely bothered about having all the custom skins and weapons. We’ve only seen evidence of this being on the consoles so far, but it might well be possible on PC too.
We haven’t had a proper chance to dive into the new content yet, but we’re immensely excited to try out the Gears 5: Hivebusters expansion this week, which adds a whole new single player campaign for players to enjoy.

Now can they please do that with Gears of War 4? There's no reason for that game to be 100GB
Lol I genuinely thought that was a feature all the time. I just used without even thinking.
I am about to play the Hivebusters DLC & this was a nice surprise!
Good. Gonna uninstall the multiplayer when I get home. Need all the space I can get.
@LX_FENIX Right on point. Please Microsoft, make it happen. Gears 4 is one of my all time favorite games but man, that mandatory installation is such a mess. I just want to play the campaign damn it.
