Playground Games is really spoiling us with Forza Horizon 4 at the moment. As if the fantastic Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S upgrade wasn't enough, we're now getting a free new mode with a stunt track builder!
Entitled "Super7", this free mode will see you create and compete in challenges based on drift, speed, air, and more, and you'll be able to enhance your challenges with Blueprint Builder, which allows you to place stunts, structures and scenery into your challenge wherever you want. We can see the carnage already...
As for the name, "Super7" refers to seven randomly selected challenges that appear when you start the mode, with each being a surprise. If you can win all seven challenges in a row, you’ll get your hands on an exclusive reward.
All of these features will be available for free in Forza Horizon 4 beginning tomorrow, December 8th, and the mode will be available on all platforms including Windows 10, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

This is pretty much my game of the generation if I am honest, the type of game I can just keep coming back to and always enjoy. For a car enthusiast like me simply building cars and driving them is enough to keep me entertained. The fact that they keep adding content like this is the cherry on top. Without a doubt this is why I consider the Xbox such a great platform, it's a game that totally appeals to my interests that I can't find anywhere else. Everyone has their game that they love to keep playing, for me this is it.
@JayJ yeah this really doesn't feel like a game that you "beat". I haven't tried tuning the cars myself yet, just pick up someone else's tune setup, but heard it's pretty good. I'm not a gearhead in any way buy it's interesting.
Forza Horizon 4, the game that keeps on giving.
Gotta hand it to Playground Games. I’m so happy Microsoft snatched them up for their 1st party line-up. 👍🏻
@JayJ
I agree. I played through all of the Forza Horizon games in a row awhile back. And I’m not even the biggest racing game fan & every game is fantastic & kept getting better as the series went on. I never got bored or sick of them.
Forza Horizon 4 is the best racing game I have ever played. Before that it was FH3. And before that......well you get the idea. And I go back to the Atari 2600 days (yes, I am old).
I had several awesome captures saved of jumps I made with both the General Lee and K.I.T.T. skins in FH3. Unfortunately they removed the General Lee mods from all their games to appease groups who probably never would have used those skins anyway; they would have been great to use with something like this. Censorship stinks.
And no, I don't believe the General Lee is/was racist in any way or intent; why does a small segment of the population who wants "freedom from" whatever they declare "offensive" to them get to arbitrarily dictate for everyone else what we get to have, say, or enjoy without so much as a public vote? I could name any number of things in various videogames or entertainment media that I personally find offensive, but I'm not out to get them removed, either, because the door of freedom and tolerance is supposed to swing both ways.
Microsoft/Playground Games took the choice out of users' hands and took sides with anarchists, looters, arsonists, and murderers like the rest of Big Corporate at the direct expense of law-abiding citizens and their own consumers who just wanted to emulate an old favorite TV show in a videogame. I personally don't care what side of the political spectrum you stand on or what "cause" you claim to believe in; the moment you destroy lives or property (private or public) and violate the Constitutional rights of others or you're willing to turn a blind eye to those who are in support of your "cause", you lose all legitimacy and sympathy where I'm concerned. And if these companies genuinely tried appeasing every group the way they're coddling to certain very specific ones, there would be very little content of any kind for anyone to enjoy. Is that the kind of world we want to live in?
Didn't mean to rant, but this has been eating at me a lot. This is about a whole lot more than just a skin in a videogame, after all.
@Krzzystuff Yeah tuning a car is just a really fun experience for me, and the depth they offer in Forza makes it so I can really build my cars around my own personal direction that I want to take them in. I can give you a little guide based on what I usually do to get you started.
First thing I do is take the car for a little free roam drive in it's factory stock state, just so I get a feel for what it's like, how it handles, how the engine performs, and where I want to take my build. Before I get started on tuning the engine I like to check out the first person cockpit view and see what the tachometer is like, so I can see if it will work with me raising the redline and how much I would want to raise it. It's always been a pet peeve of mine to have a car where the redline goes beyond the limits of the tach.
With the engine you just gotta know what changes the character of the engine and what will simply help bump the power so you can optimize it for a class. The exhaust and cams are the thing that change the character the most, the exhaust changes the sound and the cams raise the redline. A lot of the time I won't even touch the cams because I want to keep the redline so it works with the stock tachometer, with the exhaust I just sorta go off how much of a race car I want it to sound, for cars that I want a more subtle/sporty sound I just check out what the various exhaust tunes sound like and go off what I like the most, sometimes I won't even change it if I don't like the modified sound. Intake can also change the sound a bit but it's far more subtle, mostly just making the engine louder with every increase. Outside of that most parts simply bump the power, picking them out just helps you balance out the tune. Forced introduction is also fun to mess around with at times but it's not something I do all the time, it's pretty simple where you just pick a turbocharger or supercharger and upgrade it a bit. The higher you go with a turbocharger/supercharger will typically make the sound it makes louder, you can mess with that to add character.
When it comes to suspension a lot of the time I will just keep it simple, for more basic tunes I will just do sport suspension and roll bars all around. For more heavily tuned cars I will sometimes only add racing roll bars, for the more extreme tunes I will do some form of racing suspension and mess around with that a bit, but I try to keep it simple like basic ride height adjustments, only messing with other settings when I am working with an especially problematic car that needs extra work to get it to handle the way I want it.
Outside of that just remember how stiffening the car with extra support generally helps the stability and reducing weight is an all around benefit for performance, same with tires to a different extent, and improving braking always helps. Just be mindful of how the roll cage is something that will change the look of your car that you will always see in the cockpit view. For getting into handling adjustments I would just start with the roll bars, being mindful of how loosening the front end helps it turn in faster and stiffening makes it understeer more. For the rear it's the opposite, loosening makes it understeer and stiffening makes it oversteer. After a while you can get a feel for that. Differential settings can also change the way a car feels but that can get a bit more complicated. It's often best to work your way up when it comes to modifying and get comfortable with the basics and over time you can get into more complicated stuff. Hope this helps, it can get addicting once you get used to it.
@JayJ greatly appreciate the tips. What's your gamer tag, maybe we can catch a few races sometime
@Krzzystuff No problem, happy to get you started! My tag is Titan Tickler, it's kinda ridiculous, I know, but I was really into Titanfall at the time I made it and I have had it for many years, I should probably change it but it's what I got for now.
This looks awesome!
Wow, I'm not really into these modes - but this is a sweet free addition!
