DIRT 5's latest patch takes advantage of the holiday season, while also addressing multiple bugs present within the game, Codemasters has announced.

Update 2.00 is available today for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, bringing a Snow Limits content pack as free additional content. Included within the add-on is new Playgrounds items, liveries, Ice Breaker circuit, customisation items, as well as the ability to use a snowy landscape within the Playgrounds mode.

Wheel Support has also been added, meaning players can use their racing peripheral to immerse themselves in the race. Thrustmaster, Logitech and some Fanatec devices are all supported within the current update.

"This December, we’re decking the halls and filling your stockings with an array of new objects to use in DIRT 5’s Playgrounds mode, where players create, share and discover incredible custom racing arenas. On top of that, the pack includes DIRT’s very own winter wonderland with a brand new race event and some fresh customisation options for your profile and liveries."

As with any other patch, multiple bugs have been ironed out, including improvements to the 120FPS mode, which has been an issue for certain players since the game's launch. Along with the visual updates, an array of other issues, including game crashes, have also been rectified. You can read the full patch notes here.

We really enjoyed our time with DIRT 5, but found the content to be lacking compared to other racers. It's great that free content is being added and hopefully is a sign of more to come.
