We didn't know we were getting this today! CD Projekt Red has sprung a surprise Night City Wire stream on us, providing a look at Cyberpunk 2077 running on both Xbox Series X and Xbox One X.
The footage jumps between the two versions over the course of the ten minutes, and while the Xbox Series X version clearly looks a little prettier and smoother in terms of framerate, both versions seem impressive!
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to release on December 10th after a recent delay, and while it will be backwards compatible with Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on that date, the dedicated next-generation version isn't expected to arrive until sometime in 2021, as confirmed at the end of today's video.
What do you make of the footage? Give us your thoughts down in the comments below.

Looking forward to this, but I'm definitely trying to refrain from watching too much content prior to release.
Was expecting this in last night wire episodes.
I hope Ciri is in it.
Would be helpful to all series s/x owners if they gave a rough date of when the full next generation upgrade will be available.
Now that would be some useful information for a change.
@Kefka2589 ya somewhere there is an og xbox one saying you want me to do what now?
All joking aside I no longer believe this game is ever coming out I was so hyped but it has lost some of the sparkle for me
Judging by the footage, it looks like Xbox One X runs with a few hitches here and there and the Series X version is buttery smooth.
Since the video is only 1080p, it's tough to tell if there is dynamic resolution scaling used in the game with Series X sticking closer to the target resolution.
Either way, with Microsoft seemingly unable to keep up with supply, I probably won't be playing this on Series X anytime soon. Thank goodness I have an Xbox One X - I won't have to worry about a standard Xbox catching fire.
CDRP SURE LOVES THIS GAME
Am I the only one that's basically lost all faith in this game? I knew it could never live up to hype...but....this just doesn't seem like it's worth all the bluster anymore.
@Medic_Alert can’t wait for the Df breakdown... literally
@graysoncharles it’s on lockdown cos of Covid-19 😉
I got a One X and a pretty good gaming laptop, still not sure exactly what platform I want it on but I am leaning towards my One X since I can eventually play it on Series X as well, and it seems like the type of game that is better on a big TV.
@NEStalgia I am in the same boat I took off time to play it this weekend for the second time and feel burned by that. I hope it is good but I am not getting hyped about it anymore we will see what happens.
I was a little concerned watching the beginning when they pan the camera so slowly and drive slow during XB1 X footage. Driving at full speed through the city would have demonstrated the limits of performance.
But by the end of the video I was comfortable with the XB1 X version. The framerate doesn't seem as smooth in open environments. But it's probably no worse than other open world games. I can generally forget about framerate if it stays near 30fps.
I don't expect the full next-gen upgrade before March. The Series X will help before then.
@NEStalgia I am still hopeful it's happening but I understand your feeling.
@IronMan30 Oh, I have no doubts it'll exist - I mean it can't not. My doubt is that we're going to be glad it exists....
@NEStalgia I think it's going to be great, tbh.
@IronMan30 here's to hoping!
