The development for terrifying first-person horror game Scorn began back in 2014, and it received its first teaser trailer a couple of years later in 2016. Developer Ebb Software says it's "designed around the idea of being thrown into the world," featuring non-linear gameplay design, and locations with their own story, puzzles and characters ("even the unsettling environment is a character itself").
The game is an Xbox Series X console exclusive (also coming to Windows Store), and will run at 4K resolution and 60fps on the system. It's also been announced as coming to Xbox Game Pass.
"Scorn is set in a nightmarish universe of odd forms and somber tapestry. It is designed around the idea of "being thrown into the world". Isolated and lost inside this dream-like world, you will explore different interconnected regions in a non-linear fashion. Every location contains its own theme, puzzles and characters that are integral in creating a cohesive world."

Some recent games are on Xbox and PC first, good times for Xbox. Now all that is left is check those first-party games in July.
@BrilliantBill Nope, Series X only (and PC).
Looks interesting, I'll wait until they show us some gameplay before i jump on the bandwagon..
This was the highlight of the show for me.
I am a huge fan of the Alien franchise & H.R. Giger’s work on the original. The huge heads looked exactly like Prometheus, so that was pretty cool.
Apparently, it’s a first person shooter type of game. It was a bummer to not see gameplay, but it was cool that Xbox locked this down as an exclusive.
My favourite announcement from the event - I love Gigers artwork so really looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this...
@KelticDevil Exploring the world and solving puzzles doesn't really sound like a first person shooter to me, so I'd say it's more of an adventure and/or first person puzzler/RPG.
@ThanosReXXX
I am just saying what I have heard. I can’t confirm it’s a first person shooter. I did hear that you have a weapon, in first person mode, & you don’t use traditional ammo to kill enemies.
Maybe something akin to the Oddworld game where you do kill enemies in first person using synthetic creatures that you pick up as ammo, while also focusing more on adventure style gameplay? Not sure.
@KelticDevil Heard from who? I only know of the snippets of news concerning this game, from here and the official Xbox channels. But having said that, I wouldn't mind if they somehow managed to combine all these elements (including possible fps mechanics) into something interesting.
@ThanosReXXX
I watch three different Xbox podcasts each week & one of them brought it up saying it. I’m not saying it’s accurate. I’m just saying it’s what I heard.
But either way, it looks like a cool game with an insanely awesome art style. I guess we’ll see at some point. And if it is a horror game, in first person, even better.
@KelticDevil Ah, okay. Mind you: it was not an attack, just me wondering where you got the info from.
Personally, I'd rather stick to official channels for info about things, and the developers themselves haven't really released any kind of hints other than what is written in this article, so that's why I wondered.
@ThanosReXXX
No worries. I totally get what you mean & I would be the same if I were you. 👍🏻
