We've got some good news for Elgato owners! The company has confirmed that all of its capture devices will work on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S when the two consoles release this November.
In a blog post on Reddit, Elgato highlighted that there are no exceptions to the rule, and that depending on the device you have, you'll even be able to capture up to full 4K resolution at 60 frames per-second.
"Note that supported resolution and refresh rate combinations depend on the capture device. For example, HD60 S will be able to passthrough and capture a maximum of 1080p60 from Series X/S, while 4K60 Pro MK.2 can passthrough and capture up to 4K60 HDR."
And basically, that's it! You won't need any special equipment or any updates, so you should just be able to carry on from where you left off. Isn't it great when everything just works?
Happy about this? Will you be using your Elgato on Xbox Series X|S? Let us know below.

Two Xbox Series X consoles coming?? LMAO
I would say that would be "with" Xbox Series S/X, rather than "on."
Really don’t care, Xbox Series X has custom H/W acceleration chip that supports 4K and 8K AVC and HEVC/VP9 decoding, with AVC (H.264) and HEVC (H.265) encoding support.
Too bad they won't patch in 240p and 960p support. They are very convenient cards, but the lack of versatility for older consoles keeps me from upgrading. I have an old Elgato HD and a Startech USB3HD, and that's what I'll be sticking with until I can find an affordable and user friendly card that supports a variety of formats.
@Senua I do. It is much easier to record straight to my PC at whatever quality I like with not length limits. And since it is directly on PC it allows me to immediately edit it. Again something I can't do with the Xbox.
@InterceptorAlpha Not to mention if it's anything like AMD's previous recording solutions, it'll be crap.
@Menchi Eh. I do have to admit that Relive has treated me very well.
