It's almost here, Battletoads fans! After 26 years, the latest entry in the series finally drops tomorrow with Xbox Game Pass, and as a result, Rare and developer Dlala Studios have shared a look at 25 minutes of gameplay footage.
You can watch it all in the video above, which includes everything from side-scrolling beat 'em up levels to vehicle levels, and also features a continuous question and answer session with a couple of the developers.
The game officially releases this Thursday, August 20th with Xbox Game Pass, and subscribers can pre-install the game now to be ready when it unlocks on the day. As we've previously noted, it's still not available to pre-order as of yet, but we're assuming it'll be opened up for purchase very soon.
Liking the look of this Battletoads gameplay footage? Tell us if you'll be playing it tomorrow in the comments.

So the review should be out by tomorrow?
I was hyped until I realised there is no online co-op. I’m really hoping i’m wrong about that; can anyone clarify?
(Usually I would prefer local but due to current situations online would be ideal)
Probably the first game I am buying on Xbox One in a while. Based on the trailers I have seen so far, I am not expecting to like the overall story and presentation, but the gameplay does at least look interesting, so I'll see how it goes.
Why can’t you pre order without game pass or at least see the price
I plan to get this and Tony Hawk if they both review well
Another great Steam month waiting for Xbox Game Studios.
@IronMan30 Watch this space!
@FraserG Is it true this game has over 15 levels to beat?
This game still has me a bit worried, but hopefully it turns out to be good. And with it coming to Game Pass, it’ll be worth a shot either way. 👍🏻
I watched 5 minutes of the gameplay footage, and even though in the video most of the people were reacting negatively, I actually really liked what I saw. I am looking forward to giving it a go soon.
I'm looking forward to this but do have one concern about the side scrolling beat em up levels as it looks to be either side scrolling with nothing happening, then locking in place for the actual beat em up action which is a very peculiar decision
