2016 action-adventure game ReCore was published by Xbox Game Studios and co-developed by the Texas-based Armature Studio, and despite releasing to mixed reviews, it's still considered somewhat of a hidden gem by its fans.
In a recent interview with Segment Next, Armature Studio was asked about its thoughts on a new ReCore game and enthused that it would be "great to see," regardless of how it happened:
"We have a very good relationship with Microsoft, but we have not talked specifically about creating a new ReCore game. We really enjoyed the IP we helped create, so whether ReCore returns through us or someone else, it would be great to see a new version of the game."
Of course, it's not really in Armature's hands - Microsoft owns the IP to ReCore, so any potential sequel or reboot would have to be greenlit by Xbox first. The question is, do you want to see a new game in the series? Let us know your thoughts on a potential sequel to ReCore in the comments below.

ReCore isn't great, but it was a fun game I enjoyed my time with. I think the characters and the world are interesting enough that I would like to see more. Especially with GamePass being what it is, it's probably way more likely we would see a sequel one day.
@Medic_Alert I am in the same boat. I started it, and barely played a couple hours and stopped. I haven't returned since.
Definitely! Not a masterpiece by any stretch, but a very underrated gem!
Hmm, I have downloaded this via Gamepass, not played yet... Probably should soon...
Same as everyone else, was intrigued by it, I play a bit then it gets lost in the shuffle, it’s a clunky but definitely enjoyable, I will see it to the end soon enough. I would be interested in seeing more if they have the following to allow it
I never did get around to playing this. I’ll have to check it out on Game Pass someday.
Yeah...
I would absolutely like to see a sequel! I thoroughly enjoyed the first game, a very underrated title.
One of the most frustrating games I've played. I really did not have a hope in hell is finishing the caverns in any of the times and goals they asked for. I'm just not a good enough player...
I eventually finished the main story, but the end game for the last fortress (?) was extremely repetitive and slightly easy!!
A few bugs too eg the last of 5 keys needed to open another section hidden underground where it couldn't be got at all.
but the story was good if they have it a REAL good rethink and redesign.
Yes, I'd try it
this was a prime example of Microsoft starting a new IP, then dropping it after one game. Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Killer Instinct...it isn't that Microsoft doesn't have franchises, what they lack is patience. ReCore should definitely see a sequel, and almost certainly never will.
Q) Do you want to see a new game in the series?
A) Yes, yes, yes, yes! ReCore is still competing with Ori and the Blind Forest in regards to being my favourite game on the Xbox One. I absolutely loved the combat and platforming of ReCore and the world of Far Eden was one of the only times I ever understood the appeal of being immersed in a world. It's one of those games wherein whenever I stopped playing I would keep thinking about it and looking forward to when I'd next have chance to.
I haven't played it since the Definitive Update though; perhaps I'll go back to it and play from the start.
I discovered ReCore through GamePass. I really had a lot of fun with it. There were a couple bugs that got annoying at the end of the game but overall it was a nice experience. I would definitely play a sequel if one was made.
I think that the game has set the stage for a great franchise. With some love and money I think a sequel could be great.
