NBA 2K21 Launches In September, Won't Support Smart Delivery On Xbox Series X

2K has revealed that NBA 2K21 is coming to Xbox One on September 4, 2020 and Xbox Series X this Holiday, but it unfortunately won't support Microsoft's Xbox Smart Delivery program.

However, there is a way to get a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version - if you purchase the £84.99/$99.99 Mamba Forever Edition, which includes the Kobe Bryant Digital Collection with special MyPlayer Shoes, a Sapphire Kobe MyTeam Card and more, you'll get the next-gen version at no extra cost.

An NBA 2K spokesperson commented on the lack of Smart Delivery support to IGN:

"It's something we're interested in, but NBA 2K21 will not support Xbox Smart Delivery."

Meanwhile, 2K also confirmed more details on the next-gen versions of NBA 2K21, revealing that it's being built from the ground-up for Xbox Series X and PS5, and will adopt a £64.99/$69.99 price point. This version will feature "unbeatable graphic fidelity, two second load speeds, new gameplay features, and expanded game modes," as well as MyTeam cross-progression and a shared VC Wallet within the same console family.
