Hope this is them just trying to not mess the XSX launch date, because it will be lame if the XSX version does not release the same day.
I'll admit I haven't played Assassin's Creed for a long time (since Revelations, in fact), but this looks so far removed from what the series used to be I'm not sure I even recognise it anymore. No doubt they're good games rich with content, but sometimes less is more. I'd really like to see AC return to the purity of the original games.
@TimG13 I’m in partial agreement. I love these larger open world AC games that chase after Witcher 3, but wish they had more old-style smaller games more akin to AC1 to 4.
It would be awesome if UBisoft had a third studio work on older scale games targeting the Nintendo Switch (with potential enhanced releases for PS and XBox.)
Will be interesting to see if the later release date is due to them not allowed to announce the release of the new consoles or if they genuinely are releasing the game later on.
@TimG13 since origins the series has progressed into a grind fest with a levelling up system and pestering you to buy microtransactions. Even character wise, in origins it would have been better if you played as Aya, since she was a better character than Bayek. The series peaked with syndicate.
@Tharsman The wording is interesting from Microsoft on a few of these announcements.
On Xbox Wire, Watch Dogs: Legion is mentioned as coming to Xbox Series X "when the console is available," while the title for the Assassin's Creed announcement is just, "launches November 17."
The Ubisoft reveals both just say they're "coming soon to next-gen."
Seems a bit lame coming soon to series X.
Want to play on my new series X with the patch in all its glory.
Is it just my phone? Why was everything so dark all the time? Even when there was daylight everything looked dark. Is it just cos I don't have HDR?
I agree with @TimG13. I've played all the main AC games but have noticed a change in style with the more recent additions. This (to me) doesn't look anything like an 'Assassins' game. Sadly this isn't on my wishlist. Maybe I'll be swayed by actual reviews once it releases, but based on what I've seen, it's a no from me.
