It's been a while since we last heard anything about THQ Nordic's action-RPG Biomutant, but now it's returned with almost ten minutes of new footage as part of IGN's Summer of Gaming festival.
You can check out the video above, which also includes a developer interview with the game's creative director Stefan Ljungqvist. In it, he explains the game's lack of publicity in recent years, citing Biomutant's huge size and small development team as reasons behind the studio's silence.
The footage above is looking fantastic, but we're still waiting on a definitive release date for now.
What do you think of the new gameplay for Biomutant? Let us know in the comments.

I still don't know what to think of this game.
I've never heard or seen anything about this game before, but I'm REALLY liking the look of this. It's definitely weird and one of the first things that came to mind was that this game is the answer to the question "What do you get when you put Kung Fu Panda, World of Warcraft, Monster Hunter and Pokémon in a blender?"
It started out looking like a slightly more gritty version of Kung Fu Panda, then we got the whole clan thing, then we got the whole fighting monsters thing, and finally, we got one monster looking even more crazy and inventive than the next one. And they're all very colorful as well.
I'm also REALLY liking the underwater bits. Until now, I've seen very few, if any games, get this right. The colors, the movement and the look as a whole of being submerged, having a slightly more fuzzy view, and seeing moveable elements on bodies, such as hair or fur, move like they're supposed to.
Gameplay-wise, it looks awesome!
The story is a bit fuzzy, still. Hoping there will be one and that it's at least decent.
I'm a tiny bit worried that it gets released only in 2021...even though they just target PS4, X1 and PC...which would be a shame for a game getting out in 2021 not to support next-gen in some ways. BUT, they are a team of 18 people (which is super small for that kind of game, IMHO) so I am not sure they will have the resources to get ready for next-gen before release.
Looking forward to knowing a release date and learning more about the presence or lack of story
@jipiboily They really are in a race against time, next gen is fast approaching and if it releases say mid 21 the game will likely sell poorly.. I expect the switch to next gen will be swift regardless of the current climate...
Xbox One will still get quite a few games in 2021, and the Fifa's and NBA and odd movie tie in will likely continue to release for perhaps another couple of years after Series X launch, but I can't see many Xbox One games releasing in 2022 onwards...
