We've heard multiple rumours over the past couple of years about a supposed Harry Potter game in development by Avalanche Software, and a new report from Bloomberg has suggested the game is very real, and will be released for Xbox Series X (and other platforms) in late 2021.
According to the report, the big-budget game will let players "role-play as wizards and roam a vast, open-world re-creation of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas."
It's said that Warner Bros. had originally planned to unveil the game at E3 2020, but will now showcase its Batman game at the DC FanDome event in August, with Harry Potter set to come later. These plans were reportedly made before J.K. Rowling was heavily criticised for her recent comments on Twitter, although the author apparently has "very little direct involvement" with the game.

I'll be interested to see this IF it happens. Not buying a Series X though, so it'll be on X1X or nothing for me.
Strange time to release a new Harry Potter game.
@KelticDevil Don't forget the third Fantastic Beasts film is due at the end of next year, although I do agree Potter has gone off the boil a bit.
@TimG13
I forgot about the Fantastic Beast movies. 👍🏻
I'd be interested in seeing what such a game could offer. I loved exploring the castle in Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince, so if there can be more to do within the castle, that'd be great. And if Hogsmeade is available as part of that (and we can go there whenever we wanted) that'd be an even sweeter deal.
This has a lot of potential. But I'm afraid it won't live up to the game I hope it will be.
I'm sure I've been reading about this game for years 😄
I can't say I've been the biggest fan of the franchise but I do like the idea of an RPG set in such a world
