Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps are some of the most beautiful and moving platformers available. Will there be another game that takes place in Ori's world - or even a direct follow-up to the latest game, though? In a recent Reddit AMA on the PC Gaming subreddit, Moon Studios was asked this exact question by a fan.
Lead Engineer Gennadiy Korol responded with the following message - which we would advise you don't read if you haven't completed these games yet.
We really felt that we told the story that we wanted to tell - Ori's story - across the two games. It's really Ori's journey, and we're happy with where it ended and what we wanted to say through telling that story. If you've finished the game, you can see that we've left the door cracked open a bit for a potential continuation, though we don't have anything specific to share at this point and time.
While it doesn't sound as if Moon Studios will be jumping back into this series any time soon, the good news is that there's still a chance of another game (as players who have finished the second game would already know).
A few months before the release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a job advertisement for Moon Studios was recruiting senior designers to help the company "revolutionise the ARPG genre". Later on in March 2020, studio founder Thomas Mahler told GameSpot this new game would be "about humans" while talking about the Ori series.

I'm all for it, I love the Ori games..
I played the first one until I got to the tree. Then, after almost breaking my controller trying to beat that awful sequence, I gave up.
It’s too bad because the game was enjoyable up to that point.
Dear Microsoft,
Write. The. Check.

They need to secure Moon Studios. Like, for real.
@gingataisen it's one of the things that has bugged me about Microsoft since they entered console gaming; they've acquired 15 studios over the last couple of years, which is great, but the reason they needed to was their tendency not to try and acquire studios and build franchises over the last couple of decades. they should definitely acquire Moon; they should have acquired Insomniac, they should have worked harder to keep Bungie in the fold, they should have tried harder to keep Titanfall an exclusive after the first game; and on and on...
