EA Plans To 'Double Down' On Developing Star Wars Games

EA has been singing the praises of its partnership with Disney and Star Wars in a recent "fireside chat," revealing that it's planning to "double down" on making Star Wars games (thanks Gamespot).

CEO Andrew Wilson highlighted that both Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 have sold around 35 million copies combined, while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and mobile game Galaxy of Heroes have also enjoyed excellent sales figures.

Additionally, he pointed out that although the upcoming release of Star Wars: Squadrons in October is targeting a smaller market than Battlefront 2 and Jedi: Fallen Order, he remains confident it'll be a success:

"We've had success in first-person shooters, in RPGs, in action adventure, in MMORPGs, in mobile, and I believe we're going to have success with Squadrons as well... "We're going to double down on that partnership. Disney continues to be very very committed to the IP and to the canon."
