The creative director of Assassin's Creed Valhalla has announced that he's stepping down from the project "to properly deal with the personal issues in my life," following recent allegations that he has been engaging in extramarital affairs.
On his now deleted Twitter account, Ashraf Ismail issued the following statement (thanks Polygon):
“I am stepping down from my beloved project to properly deal with the personal issues in my life. The lives of my family and my own are shattered. I am deeply sorry to everyone hurt in this.”
Ubisoft also issued a statement to Polygon, stating that “Ashraf Ismail is stepping down from the project to take a leave of absence," and that "the development team is committed to delivering a great game in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.”

He's scum that's destroyed his wife and kids lives because he couldn't keep his pants on.
I feel sorry for those left broken by his behaviour, but this guy deserves his reputation to be tarnished the way it is now
While I'm relieved to find it's not the kind of allegations Chris Avellone and Andrien Gbinigie got, he's still a jerk in his own right. Hopefully he gets his crap together.
Edit: Didn't know about the younger fans part until now. Ugh.
“Ashraf Ismail is stepping down from the project to take a leave of absence,..."
I hope it's a permanent one.
