Here's a blast from the past! The classic 80s SEGA platformer Alex Kidd in Miracle World is getting a remake for various platforms including Xbox, set to arrive sometime in 2021.
The new trailer for Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX was revealed during yesterday's IGN Summer of Gaming event. Its Steam page reveals it'll include "striking new art and tighter, more fluid controls," additional modes including ‘Classic Mode’ and ‘Boss Rush Mode’, new and remastered music, and new levels which "expand the lore of the original and feature new enemy types and vehicles."
You'll also be able to jump back and forth between the enhanced graphics and a recreation of the original Sega Master System version's art style. That sounds pretty cool to us!
A legend returns in stunning new detail with Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX! Fire up your power bracelet and relive a platforming classic alongside new modes, levels and features!

This is pretty cool, but very odd considering Alex Kidd hasn’t had a game in ages.
I don’t have a problem with certain remakes, but I don’t get what warrants this for the treatment.
Hahaha what? That's really surprising, enjoyed this one as a kid. Played it a couple of years ago and don't think that it has aged very well though. Strange choice.
The Sega Master System was the first console I personally owned myself when I was a small boy, and it had this game pre-installed on it.
If nothing else, I'd love to get this game so I can show it to my son, and show him the games I played when I was his age.
@TheDragonsMouth very likely someone’s passion project. It seems to borrow a lot from the Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake/master.
