One of the best first-party titles released this year on Xbox One and PC is Ori and the Will of the Wisps by Moon Studios. Despite being a little rough around the edges on the release, we still awarded this masterpiece nine out of ten in our review.
In an update, Moon Studios has shared an infographic revealing the game has now been downloaded more than two million times. Perhaps the most interesting stat is that 7.1k players managed to complete the game without dying. Excluding this small group of players, there have actually been more than 240 million deaths in the sequel to date.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps has managed to achieve two million downloads in about the space of five months, and no doubt a lot of these downloads were made by Xbox Game Pass users. It once again illustrates how certain releases tend to perform better on Microsoft's subscription service model.

I loved this game, but to complete it without dying?! Death comes so quickly in this game it's something I don't think I'd ever try... Just seems asking for frustration and constant reloads. An amazing game though and my favourite of the year so far.
Brilliant game. Really looking forward to playing it again on Series X (as I have a Day 1 XBO and performance was mixed)
I think I died around 721 times... there would be no point for me to even try for no deaths! 😂
I haven't got around to playing it yet. I have it installed on steam since launch but the last few months have been pretty loaded on games for me. I'm almost all caught up.
Is it much harder than the 1st? I 100%'d that with 4 deaths.
I think Ori is second-party, no?
