Minecraft Dungeons

A while ago, it was discovered the Minecraft Dungeons action-RPG would not support cross-platform multiplayer on release, and that it would be patched in as a free update in the future.

So, what's the status on this? In the latest post on the official Minecraft website, Mojang's Cristina Anderca reminded fans that the team hadn't forgotten about this promised feature and was still working on it. This brief update also mentioned how some "cool new free content" was on the way for everyone and said more details would be shared in the coming weeks.

The team is also working on adding cross-platform play functionality and cool new free content for Minecraft Dungeons that everyone will receive, regardless of edition! We’ll come back with more details in the coming weeks.

At the moment, Minecraft Dungeons is limited to local and online play across the same platform. Online play is also limited to friends-only matchmaking, as the game does not allow you to team up with random adventurers.

When cross-platform play eventually rolls out, you'll still have to make sure you're friends with anyone (online) before you can team up with them.

Is this a feature you've been waiting for? Leave a comment down below.
